The National Instruments PXIe-4081 (Part Number: 783130-01, 154888C-02L) is a 7½-Digit, ±1,000 V, Onboard 1.8 MS/s Isolated Digitizer PXI Digital Multimeter.
The NI PXIe‑4081 is the industry’s most accurate 7½‑digit DMM, providing the measurement capabilities of a high-resolution 1,000 V DMM and an isolated digitizer—two common test instruments in one.
As a DMM, the PXIe‑4081 delivers fast, precise AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, 2‑ or 4‑wire resistance, and frequency/period measurements, as well as diode testing. In the high-voltage, isolated digitizer mode, the NI PXIe‑4081 can acquire waveforms at sample rates up to 1.8 MS/s at the full input range of ±3 A or ±1,000 V.
Additionally, the PXIe-4081 does not support direct inductance and capacitance measurements. For the isolated digitizer, the voltage ranges from ±100 mV to ±1,000 V (DC or AC coupled), the current ranges from ±1 µA to ±3 A, and the sample rate range is 10 S/s to 1.8 MS/s.
The National Instruments PXIe‑4081 Digital Multimeter has an input impedance of 10 MΩ ± 2% in parallel with 90 pF, and the maximum DC voltage component is 400 V.
This DMM has a frequency range from 15 Hz to 500 kHz and a period measurement range from 2 µs to 66.67 ms. The PXIe-4081 does not have an ADC linearity specification of 0.5 ppm; instead, it provides ADC linearity of 0.5 ppm of reading + 0.5 ppm of range
